I figured out how to make my own banner.
Of course I'm still learning the program, but it's a beginning!
Note that I've included my "mews"! I love that pic of him.

A tag
I was tagged by Beth at BethQuinnDesigns 6 random or quirky facts about me.
1. I grew up on a farm in California where my Grandparents lived in a house between my families house and my Aunts house. My dad had gardens, my grandpa raised cattle and farmed and my uncle built a basketball court, a big bar-b-que and a pool, making for a fun place to grow up.
2. I recently talked to Ryan Stiles and when I looked up at him, I lost balance and leaned into his arm, so as not to fall over. He's very tall.
3. I am one class away from having a degree in Early Childhood Education.
4. I'm named after my Great Grandmother Mahala.
5. I lived in Santa Cruz CA when I was younger and worked on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk making corn dogs.
6. I almost had twins two years ago, but lost them because my uterus wasn't well and couldn't hold them...darn uterus. I don't have it anymore though. :)
I'm to tag six people, however, if you read this consider yourself tagged!!!

Mothers and daughters...

First:
My Mom has been seen by MANY doctors and has visited the hospital many times in the last year. She is thought to be in need of living in a home by many of those doctors and the emergency room doctor doesn't understand why she isn't in one because of all he sees her for.
Well, the home and social worker sent papers for the doctor to sign and admit her, well her doctor said that she won't sign until after she sees her tonight because she hasn't seen Mom in a year AND said she might not okay it!
Where has her doctor been all of the times Mom had to be seen or consulted. The doc was in her office, sending other doctors to see Mom here and there. She refused to believe my Mom was sick until one of her co-doctors saw her and couldn't believe that Mom hadn't had better care.
If this doctor doesn't okay the convalescent home, well...we'll see then...
Second:
My daughter is supposed to have a plan in place at school for her "issues" and we started paperwork in September and we still haven't been given an appt. with an administrator. The teachers aren't working with her the way she needs because without the plan in place, they really don't have to. If she doesn't pass math, she won't graduate with her class next year. I am not a math whiz and every time I look for help, they say they're working on it.
Well, yesterday the counselor, with whom we've been working with for two years thought my daughter was a Sophomore, not a Junior!
No wonder my comments to the teachers and counselor aren't looked at as needing immediate attention! Last year they all worked with her and she did very well, but this year, without another piece of paper, she's drowning! It's not just the math, it's that for one thing if she doesn't get to go to the bathroom to wash or clean...she obsesses over the thought of something being on her somewhere or bleeding somewhere or ...well just about anything and the teachers this year won't accept it...yet.
There's more, but I need to keep my head about me today.
They are both so wonderful, it makes me angry and unhappy to see them treated this way...
Update:
The doctor said yes and Mom will move into her new room/home on Monday. She is a happy camper! Can you imagine being happy about moving into a convalescent home as your final place to live? She is!

Wow...now better.

Life can change in just a moment can't it? Everything and I mean everything has just hit me like a ton of bricks and I think I'm about to have a nervous breakdown. I sh*t you not...
Okay, I am now feeling better. Took a long walk outside with the cats...cool air calms the head.
I am still sad and worn out from a rough day. I wish I could fix all my daughters woes and all my moms ills, but it's not gonna happen!
My head still hurts, but my eyes are better and my heart is a little less achey.
Take care of yourselves.
Some prizes have arrived!
Remember the One World One Heart Event? Well, I won some things and two arrived yesterday!
The material is fun and I have an idea what to do, but that can change!

Happy Monday to you all.
DD has a snazzy a new red hair attachment thanks to my sister.
She likes it and wore it to school today..
Scratch doesn't want me working today.
Notice the shaved areas on his front leg? He got the snot beat out of him by a stray cat. we had to take him to the emergency vet and he got antibiotics and pain meds. He was sick for a few days...high fever and all at first. Now he's out and about and doing just fine.
However he is still sticking close to us as you can see.

I found a gold frame at the thrift store and crackle paited it with gold, brown and black.
Oh, and there is my most treasured spool creation from none other than the wonderful spool goddess Miss Koolaid.
I found this goose, unpainted, so I crackle painted it. Did I forget to mention that I am obsessed with crackle paint? I also found this small clock and loved it, as it has colors that I love. Also there is a candle holder from the sweet Lori at Pink Faded Roses from our Valentines Admirer swap.
I set the clock up with a battery and...

Early morning visitors
Oh deer! Four of them actually!
We have cars coming in and out of the property all day, but these folks don't care. They just watch a second then go back to eating.
They are here pretty regularly.
It is a very cool thing to look out and see them this close. Once I was charged by a young one who didn't like me taking his picture, so I will just usually take them from inside.

So, I am offering a giveaway to a lucky visitor.
Just leave me a happy birthday comment on this post and I'll draw a name on Friday the 22nd.
This is me.

Just leave me a happy birthday comment on this post and I'll draw a name on Friday the 22nd.

I have been tagged by Debi:
Seven "What Ifs" I'll bet you did not know:
1. What If I could meet anyone in the world to chat with:
Lisa Oceandreamer and I'm going to meet her in April!
2. What If I could travel anywhere in the world:
I would travel to Scotland to visit my brother and his family and meet my nephews and sister-in-law.
3. What If I could have one wish granted to benefit all of mankind:
Free healthcare for the world.
4. What If I could live in a period other than the present for just 24 hours:
I would love to experience the late 1800's and meet my Great Grandmother Mahala.
5. What If I had to become an animal for 24 hours:
I would be a fish and just swim my heart out.
6. What If I could make-over three areas of my body:
Only three? I'd have a smaller waist, fix my funny nose and my droopy eyelids.
7. What If I could bring anyone back to life for 24 hours:
My dad. I was his 24/7 caregiver for about the last two months of his life and I didn't want to talk to him about his soon to happen death. I would say, "When you're better we'll do this..." and so on. I did tell him though and hospice told him, but I don't think he believed it. When I'd ask him to sign things for Hospice or me, he would always say, "I'm not dead yet." I would really want to just sit with him and hold his hand for the last 24 hrs of his life.
Now if you want to play along, consider yourself tagged!
Now don't forget to leave me a comment to be entered in my giveaway!

Saturday again!
This has been an eventful week!
I've had the flu...or a cold...I just feel awful and yet I feel good. Go figure.
My husbands jaw is healing great and the stitches have fallen out...yuck!
My Mom just had another blood transfusion yesterday and I was too sick to go sit with her...darn viruses. She is feeling good now.
One friend had her baby and hours later another friends Mom died.

My brother in law spent about five days in the hospital for surgery on his hand and had complications, hence the long hospital stay.
Oh, I was sitting in a chair in the office, leaned back and snap, the leg broke and now my neck and shoulder hurt very bad. It was a lawn chair I had brought in, not the office chair. I always tell the kids not to lean back in their chairs...maybe I shoulda listened!I've been making things and enjoying it. Here are a few 4x4's I've done. Well, they still need a bit done to them, but they're coming along.
You have until midnight my time on the 13th to enter. then I'll post the winner on the 14th along with all the others that are participating.
So how was your week?
