Sparkly paper and paint

I found some sparkly paper I liked, so I used it on a box I found at the thrift store. I of course first painted the box...it was dark brown , now it's crackly beige and blue.
I also painted and covered a few cans I'd been saving ...these were used for a spaghetti dinner. Now they are paint brush, scissor and tool holders.
Oh and the desk they are on...well, I got it at Goodwill for five bucks. It has three levels for me to work on. Love it.
Happy crafting!

My sister sent me a pic of her grandson. I made him some ATC's of his "tough guy" picture.

My friend

I've been working on my first "doll", Pineapple Sage. The plant pineapple sage has bright red flowers...hence the hair color on little Miss Sage.
I am having so much fun that I'm going to make more.
Have a great day!

saturday

Wow, I haven't posted in a while. Sometimes the time gets away from me.
it's been raining here quite a bit this week and I woke up a bit sniffle-snuffly.
I saw this fella here pulling this camper behind his VW Bug...they're both silver...too fun. It looked like the Momma pulling her baby. It has a full kitchen in the back...tiny, but stove et al fits in there.
Watch out for the ragweed out there today...

Busy being crafty

I started out playing...no idea which way to go. Then after HOURS of thought I had ideas and went with them.
I visited www.greatmusings.com and was sent to alteredkat.blogspot.com where I found "Freebie Fridays" with images to use. I found and used the butterfly for my daughters pic and the little girl on the flower box.
Check it out ...they sell collage sheets, embellishments among other things and they offer tips and tricks, which I am always happy to find.
Happy crafting.

Sunday on the pond

The boys were out wildlife huntin' on the pond. I took a video and will try to load it...now to figure that out.
Oh when I came in, my husband said, "I thought you were shopping at Michael's" well, now guess where I'm going! tee hee.

work in progress

I'm working in my little corner on my shrine to my Dad. I have spent the last couple of days adding layers of paper, fibers and paint to get the colors and texture I want.
I have more to learn, but I'm pleased so far. I'm also getting ready to put it all together...this drying time can get to ya!
Watch out for mosquitos and have a great night.

Yellow day

Lately I have been feeling yellow...kind of drained of energy...not quite right. I went to the Doc and my platelet count is lower than ever before. He took blood again so he can see if there has been any difference in the last few weeks.
When its low, I am drained and droopy, light hurts my eyes and my body aches. My body also has difficulty regulating temperature...not fun.
On a lighter note I saw my mom today. She found out she has Vertigo and almost passed out at the doctors office. Wait...thats not a lighter note...
The sun is shining and I am in a comfortable chair in the office not out in the heat driving. There , that's the lighter note.
Have a wonderful day.

Busy having fun

I have made number two of my "Mom Art". I'm doing all three the same colors so I can happily hang them together.
I made more necklaces for my hairdresser. I also left some others with her and she sold them to a coworker. I'll be making more...
I think I might try the ETSY thing that so many Glitter Gals and others bloggers I visit use.
Happy weekend!

Making things

My Aunt sent me a pic of my Mom when she was little, so I thought I'd use a copy for my art. She's so cute and I'm liking these colors. Next maybe blue...

My shoes

I love my Bertula's. They are so comfortable and my bone spurred plantar fasciitis needs comfort.
Today I received a package from my Dads cousin. They wrote to each other all these years and I'd never met her, but now we are corresponding. She's telling me about my family on that side...something my Dad never did. His Mom died when he was about nine and he didn't have the best childhood...he missed her I think.
Anyway, I was sent photos and family info with a nice long letter. Tomorrow I will write to Lila and tell her about my end of the family.
It made me cry. I feel better then something reminds me of my Dad and I cry.
To my sister Cheryl...should I make a shrine? Just a little Altoids tin one? I might just do it. Me and my Dad...I miss him.

Baby got stuck

Mom and baby made it into storage area. Mom jumped the fence, then baby jumped it and off they went.

Art challenge

This is the art I made from a challenge at Violette's by Nicci at www.brushedwithmagic.com .
