A beautiful dessert

Doesn't this look yummy?
It's a German dessert that is eaten with whipped heavy cream.
I made a new friend and this is the dessert she made for my visit. I was honored that she did that. She, L, is the mother of DD's boyfriend.
I think she liked me. I don't always make a good first impression, I'm more the type that you learn to like over time...like a disease or fungus that grows on you!
Enjoy the cake, I sure did!

504's and c5/6/7's

Yesterday was a busy day.
I received an email that at school was an appt for my husband and I to attend regarding DD's school learning plan. It would have been nice to have more notice, however we worked it out and the meeting went very well.
Then I had an appt. with the Neurosurgeon about my neck.
now, I knew that my neck was in bad shape, but I didn't know how bad! Dang, I don't get a cadaver bone to replace the bad stuff because there is too much to be removed. They will use a cillander (okay obviously I can't spell cillinder) with holes in it, like mesh, and they insert bits of my bone into it and and eventually the bone grows around it. Also there will be a titanium plate and so on.
I've never worried over a surgery but because of my blood disease, ITP, I will have to have a transfusion of platelets first...interesting.
well, I have a customer...later gators.

Senior pics

It's hard to imagine, but this one is now a senior in high school.

Friday thoughts...

My knee is much better these days.
Thanks to all the sweet comments hoping for it to get better.
Yesterday it ached a lot because I didn't wear the knee brace and went to a funeral where I did a lot of standing. I however will not complain because the funeral was for a friend of ours who died in her sleep. She had gone to bed early after a busy day and was found by her twelve year old when she went for a hug before bed. She was only 45 yrs old. It was a huge shock for everyone.

After the funeral we went to an antique store in the town and my daughter insisted I go up to the bargain attic with her. She get's creeped out up there, I do to a little. Anyway, the stairs, about 38 of them, were murder on the knees. She forgot until I was half way up and she wanted me to pick up the pace. She offered for us to go back down, but heck I was half way there, so up we went!
I didn't buy anything either, but it was great fun to look. She likes to look at old clothes patterns and such. My husband kept pointing out buttons to me. Loved it.

"If you want the best seat in this house, move the cat."
That's what the sign above the couch reads and it is the truth. My husband loves lil' Scratch so much, he lets him have the best spot! I'm not one to talk, we have my mom's massage chair, well Logan has claimed it and I usually try not to disturb him...Sheesh.
Take care and have a great weekend!

Berry-licious

I've been watching this little vine, well it's little compared to the others on the property!
Anyway, look at all the berry loveliness.

A nice little bowl full of blackberries.
Turn for a picture of my assistant and ...hey, Logan put the pooper away!
Aw, too late... now something to clean up...
Logan says, "Wasn't me, I didn't do it...I was here the whole time..."
I think I'll go do something with the berries.

*guess what? No sugar in the house. Now I'll have to go to the store.
I'll send Logan...

Oh what a beautiful day...

Do you know what happens when you start wearing one of these bad boys?
Oh, it's a knee barce for my sprained knee.
This is is what you get...
Help with the weeds!
My son in his spraying get up and my Mother-in-Law in fine form.
Hee hee...
She's gonna get me when she sees this.
