Found a house shelf at the thrift store, so I bought it. I like the shape...anyway a little mod podge and paper and voila another thing to take up room on a shelf!
I love this material. The flowers flocked or raised velvet. I'm new to the material scene.
See the nice gather at the top.

I like your curtains and the gather! My sewing machine was my Great-Grandma's. It's a Singer Feather Weight. I only had so much
material to make mine and had to add something different at the bottom. If you get a chance scroll down my page I think I have a link just pass my Short and Sweet blog entry to my finished curtains.
While you are there up at the top is a link to a giveaway that is worth $117.00 you might want to get in on.
God Bless You and Yours and your Creative Life!!!
I forgot to tell you I like your House Shelf!
Have a Blessed Day!!!
The thread breaking... could be because it's old or because there's too much tension on the thread?
Your thread breaking can also be because you have the wrong type or size needle for the fabric you are using. Took me years to figure out they have different sized needles for a reason. But then I am not a seamstress. Love the house shelf and the curtains. Love Hugs and Blessings
Awesome house i can't to see it finished and what you do with it.

Great fabric, I do have an affinity for black and white! You did a great job missy! The thread thing could break due to the way it's threaded - if after the machine is threaded and you try to pull the thread once it's through the needle...and it's tight..try rethreading it.(also making sure the thread moves easily off the spool as you sew. Ninnie is right, there are different needles...that usually applies to the type of fabric you're using. (you wouldn't want to use the same needle for say denim as you would organza).
Practice practice....you can use it to make banners too.heehee
XOXOXOXO
Sometimes the tension on the machine causes the thread to break. Your sewing looks great though. Also love what you did with the buttons.
