Christmas Eve

This tree has these spike where the birds have eaten away at the cones growing there.
Our tree.
After a few days, we will put it outdoors to be planted.
Our ornaments are in storage so we strung popcorn and here Katie and my mother-in-law are decorating.

We have strung popcorn and gumdrops, homemade cinnamon applesauce ornaments, coffee filter snowflakes and candy canes on our tree.
So cute.
Happy Holidays.

Tree Day

I like to participate in swaps and this was what I made for the Winter charm swap I just participated in.
Today we will venture out to a Nursery and look at live trees with the idea of getting one for the holiday. My daughter is traveling here for a week and we will make our ornaments this year. I bought some gumdrops and popcorn and still need to find the cranberries to string. This of course is due to the fact that all the decorations are still in storage a state away. I'm glad they are, so this way we can make what we use and then share it with the birds when the tree goes outside.
I am wanting to make more charms. Anyone have ideas of what they would like to wear? I want to make what others would appreciate, not just my idea of what they'd like, so all ideas are wanted and appreciated!

Dog days of Winter

These two Poodles were at a I-5 rest area.
This little lady came to stay for a few days while her "Dad" was on vacation.
As for me, I feel blue. blue, blue. It doesn't matter what I do, just blue.
You know, the kind of blue where there is so much to be up and happy about, but you just can't muster up a good happy?
I guess that is what true depression is. No reason to feel low and down, but you can't get out of bed and there is nothing, not even the best groceries in the world for the best recipes in the house, that can make you want to move from the spot you sit at. Not even the craftiest goodness looking you in the eye to get you crafting. That kind of depression.
Well, I have it. Have it big time and need to call my doc for a refill on my second happy pill even if it costs more than I wish it did.
I haven't had anything to drink for a few hours...anyone feel like going in the kitchen for me?!

It's been a while!

Scratch the cat as a hood ornament.
We have a new toy at our house...
a pedal boat!

We found it on Craigslist and aside from needing a new rudder, it floats and goes!
We have a couple oars to use for now and they work just fine.

I discovered this Fuschia growing on the property.
I love it.
below is a bit of the creek from the porch.
Also a bit of roses on the fence.
I thought I had an up close pic of the wild roses on the property, however I might have deleted it....

We were loaded down with stuff for the trip.

In Oregon, a tire melted off the little trailer. It was crazy. My son and I waited on the freeway with the truck while the hubs and daughter went to buy a tire.

Made it

Well, we made it to our new home with only a few bumps in the road.
I will post with pics in a bit.

From the tip of my toes...

I like me some sparkly glitter polish!
Last year when the Glitter Sisters met up in Sedona Arizona for fun and art and magical times, we painted our toes with glitter.
It was so fun that I suggested that on July 26th we again paint our toes and post the pics.
Today is glitter toe day again!
I think it will be an annual thing!
Se my heart owie?
It is the end of a mosquito bite healing with heart.
My handsome nephew on his deck. love the sunset.
My daughter and I are in Vancouver hanging out with sister and her family.
I have something more to post later...

July 26...Glitter Toe Day

Last year I suggested a Glitter Toe Day.
You paint your toe nails and add glitter or use glitter and then post a pic or two on the 26th.
Lets do it again...on July 26th!

So cute and silly!

Thursday thoughts

We went to Oregon a week ago. We were looking at an area we are planning to move to in September.
This view is from our train ride home somewhere in Washington.

We ate in a restaurant in Oregon and all of the tables had pictures, newspaper articles, well you name it and was there on the table under layers of shellac or a sealant of some sort.
I found some old music books and one had this song...Meditation.
My husband woke up yesterday covered in this rash so we went to the hospital and when I say covered...it's head to toe. Today he has a blister under his eyelid.
A medication side effect, not allergic reaction, but a side effect.
It's called Stevens Johnson Syndrome.
I was told that when his skin starts to peel off, to get him back to the hospital.

Oh and when we came home from Oregon on the train the first train was late and broke down, so we were sent by bus to Portland. We were almost there and the bus driver calls out,"Does anyone know the address of Portland's Union Station?"
Neither of the bus drivers knew how to get there. Imagine a bus full of frustrated people calling people who are waiting for them and saying, "You're never gonna believe this one!"
We finally made it...a bit late, but we got there.
Then on the connecting train to home, I just happened to start to video something and this message came across...
click the video to hear.

This guy or gal showed up for a snack in the cherry tree.
We were also in the yard!

I have a lot going on here in my world.
So much I can hardly get my thoughts straight.
I just keep singing this song to myself, so darn it, I HAD to find it and now I'd like to share it with you.
