Happy New Year!

I wanted to make a fun post this year, however with my computer gone, no pictures.
So much has happened this year as far as health and well...everything.
I want to focus on the how lucky I am to have my family and my friends both old and new, those I've met in person and online.
That's what I think about everyday.
Thank you all for the love you show and how you make me feel better when I'm blue.
Take care and have a very Happy New Year.

How's your holiday?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
We had a nice quiet one here while we were surrounded by snow.
Did I mention we had snow...have snow? It's all over the place.
We found out that the reason we were not getting any mail (for three days before Christmas) is because we hadn't been shoveling the snow from around the mailbox.

My neck is healing up fine.
It does get achey and sore when I move it, which is expected because the muscles have to adjust to a straighter neck that is a bit taller too.

When my computer is back and I am not using my daughters, I will post pics of the snow and my neck and anything else that happens!

So much snow...

Riding mower says Brrr...

Here are a few shots of the pond iced and snowy...

Look at the boat and mini dock all covered in snow.

I love seeing my back yard in the snow!
The schools started two hours late and then let out two hours early.
The roads are full of accidents and cars stuck in the snow.
DD says the bus had on chains and still slid down the hill from her school.
It is sure beautiful, but it makes for rough driving.

Feeling better

Every day and in every way, I feel better and better and better...
I heard that somewhere and try to say it often.

Chocolate

There's a radio station here that I listen to everyday. Today I wasn't listening because I went to Joann's Fabrics for my first big trip (not to the hospital) since last Tuesday.
I wish I had been listening because my name was drawn for the Chocolate contest! They bring about twenty pounds of chocolate to your workplace for you and coworkers!
So much chocolatey goodness!

The cake is HUGE!

Fudge galore!

Covered apples!

Chocolate milk and so many other things!
Some places have tons of employees...we only have a small handful...lots to enjoy...
Look at it all!
I feel blessed.

Monday, Monday

Yesterday my boss stopped by with some carnations for me. They smell just wonderful and I needed them since I started to feel sorry for myself.
The Balentine's brought me a candle. I do love candles.
I also received a beautiful holiday swag from DD's boyfriends mom. I'll take a pic of it at a later date.

My cat Logan hasn't left me alone since I came home.
I guess he knows I've had surgery and he's healing me.
That's it for now. I'm tired.

I'm home

First things first, I ordered a painting of my family from Heather at Audrey Eclectic. I just love her work and love what she did for us!
When I feel better, I am going to add more pics of the details which just the coolest, such as my kitties in the trees.
Love it.

Here was my little table with my water and some coffee. I was thrilled to get coffee.

There is the tv...I only turned it off for about three hours. Couldn't sleep with all the care I was getting throughout the night. I appreciated it.

Lovely, eh?
I felt pretty darn good, even though my throat and back of my neck were hurting.
I will post a bit more, however, I am tired now and need to go nap....upright in the recliner. We have a recliner the size of a small loveseat.
Well, thanks for all the well wishes and love that was sent my way.
I felt it and still do!

All Went Well.

Dear Faithful Simply Sage Readers,

This is Mahala's daughter Trixie-lou. Her surgery went very well, and she has very strong bones says the Doctor. She'll be back to write bloggish stories of her new height in a day or two. It is possible she'll even be taller than I am. I'll get the yard stick out.

Goodnight.

Todays the day

I am off to the hospital this morning to become a 1/4 inch taller.
I would love a cup of coffee, but of course no food or drink before surgery.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers out there.
See ya in a couple of days...

I finished it!

Made you look!
I didn't finish anything yet, just in one of those moods today!
Have a wonderful weekend, I know I will.
I am preparing my mind and my home for my surgery and recovery time.
Okay, I did finish something, but it's a gift and you'll have to wait.

Busy Days

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I have much to be thankful for.
We won't be cooking or going anywhere however, because I don't feel well.
I spent yesterday and Monday having IVIG, an iv infusion of blood platelets at the hospitals infusion center. They take three hours just for the infusion, a little more with all the needle poking and what not. Needless to say I feel like poop right now. Today I go to the surgeon for my preop appt.
It's moving along. next Tuesday, I'll have the makings for a new neck.
A little snowman village in the making...

And a sneak peek at a banner for the banner swap I'm in.
Take care and Happy Thanksgiving!

This morning

I had my tooth pulled.
I got to the clinic at 6:30am so I could be the first in line for a cancellation and what luck,
the 8 am canceled.
Push, wiggle, pull and yank out it came after 20 minutes.
Stitches and gauze and off I went to get pain meds.
Now as the numbness wears off it throbs and hurts.
I think I'll go lay down now.

I won a mail art contest

Kate at Meanderings
had a mail art contest with visitors deciding the winner
and I was the winner.
She sent me so many papers and napkins ...
Art and life Book...
A beaded medicine bag kit...
She also decorated the envelope for me!
The first photo above has more of the envelope.
Thank you Kate and the visitors who voted for me!

Oh dear...

I have a toothache.
Actually, around noon I broke my tooth on toast.
Toast I tell ya!
It is a tooth that needed a crown, but I never got one.
I should have got that crown.
Now I have to wait till the morning to be at the dentist at 7:45 in the morning and wait in line for a cancellation or till they can squeeze me in.
I get there at 7am to be first in line.
So if you need a crown...
Go and get it!!!

Old photos, but not forgotten

Snowman for a day

I made a snowman for my son's friend...she's a girl...it was her 21st birthday and I know that all girls need a snowman box for their 21st.
I saw a tutorial on the Jolie Paquet blog.

She said she likes blues and I'd been hanging on to this slightly expensive Japanese paper for a special occasion.

He has a feathery hat 'cause he's cool that way...
A Happy 21st Birthday box for K, Miss Awesome-awsity.
The tutorial calls for Celluclay, but since I haven't found it yet, I used Paper Clay.
I have three more I'm working on.
Fun,fun,fun!

Chunky and Itty Bitty Books

I have an obsession...
With these book swaps...
It's hard to say no to them...
I have fun making my pages...
Then I get back a beautiful collaborative piece of artwork...
Just so much fun to look at...
Full of crafty goodness...
So what do you think?
Wouldn't it be fun to do a chunky book?
These are from a Crow Book I participated in...
So fun...
I was born a Crow...
So these are extra special to me...
My obsession...chunky books.
