I just wanna sleep...

Okay, so, I went to the doctor to find out why I'm so tired and all that good stuff and he gives me something more for sadness and blood tests.
The tests get back and the on call doctor sees my platelet count and calls my oncology/hematology and leaves the message that my count is critically low and I need to be seen ASAP.
The next morning I get the same message.
Well, today I went to the o/h doctor and he has a huge grin because my "critically low" platelet count was only at 61,000 down from my last test of 68,000.
For someone with ITP they don't treat until you get down to 20,000, unless you're having neck surgery, then they pump you with some platelets which lasts about two weeks.
He was also my moms oncologist and said that yes, I am tired and worn out from the low counts, but he feels that I am still grieving for my mom and that is adding to it.
So...
I just wanna sleep.
I want to put on a beautiful gown and wings just like the lady in the picture and take a nap somewhere beautiful.
Well, my bed will work too.
Take care of yourself and have a sense of humor!
Laugh and you'll feel better!
I know I am.

Pocket full of Sunshine and some coffee

Guess what I just won on the radio by being caller #ten during the secret song?

A $20.00 coffee card from Cruisin' Coffee!
Hahaha!
So fun and I was on the radio.
Oh my goodness.
I needed this!

Making art

My Mother-in-law found some paper with houses on it that she just loved and bought it for me.
Well, I decided to make her something with the houses, so I cut them out and made inchies out of them and then glued them to a painted canvas.
She bought the canvas as well, and my mom always said that people buy for you what they would like to receive whether they realize it or not.
So I made this for the MIL.

Cute eh?
I'm making another one...I want to open an etsy shop darn it!

No rhyme or reason

Logan and his boy...well my boy too.
My big Christmas Cactus.
Scratch is in his box on the top shelf there. If we move it, he seems lost until we put it back.
Pretty lemon filled donut.

I made a clock on canvas with a card I won from the OWOH event and an old CD all textured up and bits and pieces from my scrap pile and an old clock.
It's a bit shiny, so next time I will use a mod podge that is less shiny.

Well, it rained and then the sun came out and then clouds and more sun.
There was talk in the news of more snow?!
Bring it on! There must be a reason for it.

By the bay

It was windy and cold down on the water. DH covered up while the fella in the background was carrying his surfboard in his shorts...well, he's in his shorts, the board is on his head... the fella was having a photo taken standing in front of the board down at the water's edge.

It's hard to see, but Canada is way out on the water...see the land masses? They're islands far away. Vancouver Island is out there a ways, but not that far!
So here's the gray hair, well it's a bit hard to see, but it's there I tell ya!
Now, is 44 too young for gray? Should I color it or is gray cool?
Any ideas?

Carnations

I love carnations.
Growing up on the farm, my Dad used to raise carnations for me. I loved the spicy scent and he loved to grow things, so it worked out for both of us. I've yet to find a carnation that has as strong a scent as Dad's did.
The other day when I opened the office these carnations were waiting for me. My boss likes carnations as well and always gives them when the time calls for a pick me up.
She's sweet.
I have been doing my regular blog visits, but haven't been commenting much. How do you comment when all you want to do is cry?
I was hoping it would go away, however, the tears keep coming.
My DH and I went down to the beach while my DD had an appt. in town. I had him take a picture of me and wow, not only has my heart been hurting, but it has moved into my hair...the gray hair has taken over in just the last couple of weeks! Eventually it'll be white like Moms...and Grandma's...and the rest of mom's family.
Well, go hug someone.

These loaded backwards...yikes.
Anyway, on my way down the steps to the pond.

Snowy boat.
Snowy steps.
Snowy day.
My buddy Logan.

Time to heal

I feel as though a piece of my world, my heart, of me, has died.
I thank you all for the kind words and warm thoughts, they warm my heart.
I am so thankful for photos like this one above.
Look at the orneriness in those eyes.
Boy oh boy...Love you Mom.

Mom's hands

Moments before my daughter took this picture, my Mom squeezed my hand for the last time. If only I had known right then it would be the last time.
I miss her so.

My heart

My Mom is now at peace. Boy will I miss her. My heart is aching.

My Mom likes roses.

This morning I got the first dreaded call, "Your mother has taken a turn for the worse." I rushed down the interstate to be with her.
She has Leukemia and the last word on it, well she was given six months to live. Tomorrow will be six months.
Tonight they started her on morphine. They'll "keep her comfortable" and well, you know...at least I imagine you do.
I have come home, my neck hurt, my head hurt, my heart hurts.
I will wait for a call and if no call tonight, I will visit her in the morning and sit with her.
She said a while back she doesn't want a bunch of people sitting around her holding her hand feeling bad and crying. We won't. However, today, she held my hand while she laid in bed, even while she was asleep. Bless her heart.
Love to you all and give yourself a hug from me.

Crazy the cat...yes, that's her name, Crazy she is.
She was as thrilled as I to get so many fun packages in the mail.

I won this Itty Bitty Book from my sweet friend Mary Ann at follow Your Bliss designs during the One World One Heart event...OWOH for short. I LOVE Itty Bitty Books.

Look at the paper my next prize was wrapped in.

It was all such pretty and fun stuff.

A tag book for me to beautify!
All the goodies came to me from Paper Bird
The book Paper Flowers is so fun and I want to try some of the ideas in it.

Racoons and Three Glorious Years!

Racoons eating dog food...
My son was house sitting and these two found dog food in the back yard, so my son took some little movies. I like how this fella looks like he is cleaning each piece before he eats it.

Three years ago on March 4, 2006 I started this blog at my sisters request.
She introduced me to the artist Violette and her message board.
Something was missing in my life and Violette and the Glitter Sisters on her blog was just what the doctor ordered!
I love this blog world and all the folks I've met here.
I was gonna do a giveaway, but I'm gonna wait a little bit, because I have nothing together to give just yet.
Soon I will have a giveaway...soon I promise.
Love to you all!
